Entry requirements
Admission determined by Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Humanities) on advice of Social Work Admissions Committee. For Third Stage entry, applicants must have passed 234 points from First and Second Stage papers, or completed a BA, BTheol, BSc (majoring in Psychology), BEdStudies, or an equivalent degree from another institution plus an approved Maori language and tikanga course. Selection based on academic record, personal suitability, and proven social services experience; must meet Social Work Registration Act 2003 requirements.

TOEFL iBT 95
“All applicants whose primary language is not English, Māori or New Zealand Sign Language must demonstrate either: an IELTS (International English Language Testing System) score of 7.0 in the academic band (with no band score lower than 7.0), or a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Internet-based test (iBT) score of 95 or higher with a writing score of 22.”
