Entry requirements
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree (NZQCF level 7) or recognised equivalent, with sufficient depth/breadth (Level 5-7) in a subject relevant to the NZ secondary curriculum. Preference for STEM, English, Languages, Social Science specialists. Must provide a professional reference, statement of intent, pass a personal interview, meet Teaching Council code/standards, attain Step 5 in Literacy and Numeracy for Adults Assessment, undergo NZ Police vetting (and overseas police checks for international applicants), be physically/mentally fit, and be at least 16 (18 for international applicants).

“Applicants must provide evidence of meeting English language requirements according to the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand's English language proficiency requirements and Rule 22 of the NZQA Programme Approval, Recognition, and Accreditation Rules 2022, or an internationally recognised proficiency test outcome specified in Appendix B.”
