Entry requirements
Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree (NZQCF level 7 or recognised equivalent). Must have depth/breadth of a subject relevant to NZ secondary curriculum (Level 5-7+). Preference for STEM, English, Learning Languages, Social Science specialists. Requires professional reference, statement of intent, interview demonstrating Teaching Council standards, Literacy and Numeracy for Adults Assessment (Step 5), te reo Māori competency assessment, NZ Police vetting, physical/mental fitness. Minimum age 16 (18 for international). Credit for prior study may be awarded.
English requirements
“Applicants must provide evidence of meeting English language requirements according to the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand's English language proficiency requirements. International applicants must also meet English language requirements according to Rule 22 of the NZQA Programme Approval, Recognition, and Accreditation Rules 2022.”
