Entry requirements

Min age 16 (18 for international). Requires NZ Diploma of Teaching (Primary) Level 7, a Bachelor degree Level 7 (360 credits), Bachelor Honours Level 8 (480 credits), or Master's Level 9 (240 credits), or equivalent. Must provide a written professional reference, pass a personal interview, attain Step 5 literacy/numeracy on LNAAT, be assessed at Te Aho Arataki Marau Level 1, provide NZ Police vetting (and overseas police certificates for international applicants), and declare any disabilities/diverse needs.

English requirements

Applicants must provide evidence of meeting English language requirements according to the Teaching Council of Aotearoa New Zealand's English language proficiency requirements... International applicants must also meet English language requirements according to Rule 22 of the New Zealand Qualifications Authority Programme Approval, Recognition, and Accreditation Rules 2025.
